Precautions for the Use and Maintenance of Tilt Sensors
1. What should be noted during the use of the tilt sensor?
1. The cable bending radius should not be less than 15mm.
2. The sensor should not work for a long time in environments below -40 degrees Celsius.
3. The sensor connector should not be disassembled by oneself; contact the manufacturer for consultation.
4. The instrument box should be kept dry and should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or rain.
5. During use, the battery should avoid excessive discharge and overcharging to prevent reducing battery life; the standard charging time is 10 hours.
6. During use, it should be handled gently to prevent severe impacts.
7. During storage and transportation, avoid strong acids and strong bases to prevent corrosion and damage to the instrument.
8. Please read the stored data of the instrument in a timely manner to prevent excessive measurement data from overwriting previous measurement data.
9. During use, the cable should avoid sharp and pointed objects to prevent cable damage.
10. It is recommended to return the sensor for calibration every 3 years.
2. If the tilt sensor encounters the following faults, you can refer to the following solutions.
1. After receiving the product, if there is no normal output, what checks can be done?
① First, immediately turn off the power and check whether the working voltage meets the requirements in the manual, and check if the wiring is correct;
② If there is no problem with the wiring, test the working current of the product and compare it with the indicators in the manual. If there is a large difference, it indicates that the product is damaged;
③ Replace the product to confirm whether the communication line is smooth;
④ Consider whether the communication parameters are correct, such as baud rate, address, output mode, etc.
2. If the tilt cannot read commands normally, what checks can be done?
If the product is used for the first time:
① Ensure that the receiving line of the product is well connected.
② Replace the product to confirm whether the communication line is smooth.
③ If the product does not output an angle at the same time, consider whether the communication parameters are correct, such as baud rate, address, output mode. If the above points do not solve the problem, consider that there may be an issue with the host computer or communication tool. If the product has a problem after being used for a period of time, and the problem disappears after replacing it with another product, consider that the product has an issue and please contact us.
3. Why does the tilt switch give false alarms? How to handle these false alarms from tilt switches?
A: Bumps while driving or interference from the surrounding environment can cause changes in the angle information of the tilt switch, leading to false alarms. Please confirm whether the above two situations exist, and test the product after confirming that there are no possible conditions. If there are still issues, please contact us.
The following troubleshooting steps mainly include:
1. During the measurement process, if there is no change in displacement and the counting button does not respond, please check whether the sensor connector is connected properly.
2. If it cannot be powered on, please plug in the charger and confirm whether the battery is sufficient. If the issue persists, please return it for repair.
3. If the battery usage time is significantly shortened, please confirm whether the battery is sufficient. If the battery is sufficient, it indicates that the battery is aging; please return it for repair.
4. When connecting to the host computer, if data cannot be read, please disconnect, confirm whether the driver is correctly installed, restart the host computer, try reconnecting, and check if the USB connector is loose.
5. If the sensor shows inaccurate measurements during use, please confirm whether the guide wheel and spring are loose and whether they need to be replaced.
6. If there is an issue saving time in the configuration, please confirm that the input time conforms to natural laws.
7. If there is an issue modifying hole information in the configuration, please confirm that it is a new hole and has not saved any measurement data.
