Online Monitoring System for Subgrade Settlement Cracks

Online Monitoring System for Subgrade Settlement Cracks

Monitoring Content

The online automated monitoring system for settlement cracks has achieved comprehensive wireless automation monitoring of subgrade settlement.

      1. Monitoring of horizontal displacement settlement on the surface of the subgrade

      2. Monitoring of horizontal displacement inside the subgrade body

      3. Monitoring of groundwater pressure during excavation of the foundation pit

      4. Monitoring of groundwater level during excavation of the foundation pit

      5. Monitoring of lateral soil pressure during excavation of the foundation pit

      6. Monitoring of internal forces in pile foundations

System Overview

The online monitoring system for settlement cracks utilizes sensor technology, signal transmission technology, as well as network technology and software technology, to monitor key technical indicators affecting pipeline settlement safety from a comprehensive macro and micro perspective, record historical and current data, and analyze future trends to assist monitoring and operation units in decision-making, enhance safety assurance levels, and effectively prevent and curb major accidents.

The system relies on an intelligent software system to establish a settlement early warning model, achieving integration with a short message platform. When anomalies occur, it automatically sends short messages to the monitoring management personnel's mobile phones in a timely manner to quickly initiate corresponding contingency plans.

System Composition

The system consists of sensors, data acquisition devices, wireless signal transmission devices, central signal receiving and processing devices, computer software systems, and a machine room.

The system establishes an open data interface, which can connect to the public internet through dedicated lines or networks, or within bandwidth limits, allowing for remote access or remote expert consultations.

System Functions

On-site data is sent to the monitoring center PC via wireless GPRS transmission devices. The software automatically converts the measured data, directly outputs the monitored physical quantities, and transmits data via the internet or internal local area network, completing the collection and monitoring of sensor data. The software can set upper limit alarm commands, and mobile SMS alarms can be monitored in real-time. Data collection and monitoring can be conducted by connecting the PC to the INTERNET.

Introduction to Static Leveling Instruments

Static leveling instruments belong to geotechnical engineering monitoring equipment, consisting of a series of intelligent liquid level sensors and storage tanks connected by communicating pipes. The reference tank is placed at a stable horizontal reference point, while other storage tanks are placed at approximately the same elevation in different locations. When other storage tanks rise or fall relative to the reference tank, it causes the liquid level in that tank to rise or fall. By measuring the change in liquid level, the relative vertical deformation of the measured point to the reference point can be understood.

       1. A uniquely generated address is automatically created, and an electronic tag (containing product specifications, model, parameters, production date, etc.) is built-in. Users can also set their own numbering based on the sensor installation location (such as specific installation locations), making it convenient for users to quickly and accurately identify and locate sensors.

       2. The sensor is equipped with internationally advanced computing chips that automatically convert the measured data, directly outputting monitored physical quantities without manual conversion, significantly reducing labor intensity.

       3. The sensor can automatically perform real-time temperature compensation, improving the sensor's adaptability under different climatic conditions and the accuracy of monitoring data.

       4. It can be directly connected to a bus for network monitoring and data collection.

Technical Route of Monitoring

According to the client's requirements: use liquid settlement instruments (static leveling) for automatic settlement monitoring during construction. The advantages of this system are: high precision; it can achieve automated data collection. To ensure the continuity and accuracy of monitoring data for long-term deformation monitoring in the future, we suggest that your company simultaneously set up manual monitoring to periodically verify the authenticity and reliability of the data alongside our automated system, allowing for mutual comparison of data as a double insurance against deviations.

Introduction to Monitoring Methods

Monitoring systems are established based on the need to protect monitored foundations, with a working base station set up on solid buildings outside the affected area, and monitoring points set at corresponding deformation characteristic locations.

Testing Principles and Methods

This plan selects static leveling instruments with RS485 telemetry interfaces and their transmitters.
