Tilt sensor application for monitoring the navigation posture of ships

A ship is a waterborne tool used for transportation and operations. It relies on human power, sails, or motors to move on water and is an indispensable tool in water transportation. Modern ships utilize various sensors, such as tilt sensors, acceleration sensors, vibration sensors, and speed sensors. These sensors can measure parameters like the tilt angle, acceleration, vibration, and speed of the ship during navigation to monitor its operational status.

Tilt sensors are generally installed on the level platform of the ship's deck to measure the tilt angle of the hull during navigation or when docking. There is a risk of capsizing if the ship's angle exceeds 35°, so the tilt angle should not exceed this limit. When the hull's angle exceeds 15°, an alarm signal is required, and necessary protective measures should be taken or the ship's motor should be forcibly stopped to ensure safe navigation, especially in windy or rough conditions. Therefore, tilt sensors have become an essential measurement tool for the safe operation of ships.

The LVT526T tilt sensor not only has good stability and a high protection level but also meets the performance requirements for applications.
