Analysis of the anti-tipping monitoring of bridge erecting machines based on tilt sensors

With the increasing frequency of bridge erecting machines in railway construction, overturning accidents of these machines occur from time to time. The anti-overturning device for bridge erecting machines has emerged. This device consists of two main parts: the probe wheel loading system and the monitoring control system, installed at the front of the bridge erecting machine.

The tilt angle sensor can detect the longitudinal and lateral tilt angles of the probe wheel pair and the bridge erecting machine frame caused by subsidence of the roadbed at any time. Under the action of the probe wheel pair, if the subsidence of the roadbed exceeds the specified value, or if the tilt of the left and right tracks exceeds the specified value, the monitoring control system will promptly issue an alarm, cut off the power supply to the drive motor, and use the braking system to make the bridge erecting machine brake urgently, ensuring that the bridge erecting machine does not enter poor sections of the roadbed, thus avoiding overturning.

Sensor H1 detects the lateral tilt angle of the horizontal pull rod between the left and right probe wheels, indicating the lateral tilt angle of the track caused by uneven subsidence of the roadbed; sensor H2 detects the actual lateral tilt angle of the vehicle body; sensor L1 detects the actual longitudinal tilt angle of the vehicle body; sensor L2 detects the longitudinal tilt angle of the lower arm of the anti-overturning device; the difference between the longitudinal tilt angles measured by sensor L2 and sensor L1 indicates the amount of subsidence of the roadbed under the vertical load applied by the probe wheel loading system (equivalent to the subsidence caused by the wheelset of the bridge erecting machine), which is used to measure the compaction degree of the roadbed. The measured values are compared with their respective threshold values determined through research to determine whether the compaction of the roadbed meets the requirements, that is, whether the bridge erecting machine can pass safely.

The HVT826T series dual-axis tilt angle sensors are all based on MEMS technology, with products offering analog output and digital outputs such as RS485, RS232, and CAN, featuring high accuracy, vibration resistance, and long-term stability. In the temperature range of -40 to 85°C, the zero drift is less than 0.2°, the measurement range is 0 to ±90°, non-linearity is better than 0.01°, and repeatability is excellent. Due to the use of self-developed anti-vibration technology in the sensing unit, the problem of significant data variation of tilt angle sensors in vibrating environments has been solved, and the module is insensitive to vibration, capable of withstanding impacts greater than 1000g.
