Application of tilt sensors in measuring the tilt of towers and buildings

The story of two iron balls landing at the same time teaches us about the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in the town of Pisa, Italy, and is an ancient tower made of white marble. It was built in 1173 and stands 79 feet tall. Since its completion, it has experienced multiple tilts, which can be noticed by the naked eye. We know that the tower and buildings can experience slight tilting due to construction or prolonged external factors. If the tilt becomes severe and reaches a certain angle, it may lead to collapse.

To prevent and monitor the tilting condition of towers and buildings, we can install tilt sensors on the objects that need to be monitored. Maiko's tilt sensors use the 3D MEMS sensor technology from Finland's VTI company, measuring in two axes. They can measure the tilt angle of the top plane and convert it into the tilt orientation of the tower, allowing for real-time detection of the tower's tilt condition. Additionally, they can output data to display instruments in real-time and can even be integrated into PLC control systems and system computers. This not only measures the tilt angle of buildings but is also an essential device for implementing a tower tilt measurement system.

Maiko's tilt sensors are produced on VTI's original production line, and all products undergo strict zero-point, sensitivity, and temperature calibration, making them suitable for applications with high precision requirements. All products are mass-produced automatically, ensuring good consistency. This product is a PCBA-type tilt sensor, which can be easily integrated into the customer's system.
