Application of Inclinometer in Oil Pipeline

Pipeline transportation is a method of transporting liquid and gas materials over long distances using pipelines as the transport tool. It is a specialized transportation method for delivering oil, coal, and chemical products from production sites to markets, and is a special component of the mainline transportation in a unified transport network. Most pipelines are used by their owners to transport their own products. Pipeline transportation not only has a large transport volume, is continuous, rapid, economical, safe, and stable, but also requires less investment, occupies less land, and has lower costs, while allowing for automatic control.

In addition to being widely used for the long-distance transportation of oil and natural gas, pipelines can also transport ores, coal, building materials, chemicals, and grains. Pipeline transportation can eliminate the transfer links of water or land transport, shorten transportation cycles, reduce transportation costs, and improve transportation efficiency. Therefore, the construction of pipelines requires very strict standards, such as leak detection and the detection of the laying angle of the pipeline, among others. Among these, the horizontal detection of the pipeline is a very important indicator. Typically, a level gauge is used to detect the horizontal level of the pipeline, but the level gauge can only determine the horizontal level of the pipeline and cannot measure it quantitatively, which presents a significant flaw. Thus, pipeline construction personnel have introduced tilt sensors to measure the horizontal level of the pipeline. It can not only qualitatively perceive the horizontal level of the pipeline but also quantitatively determine the current pitch angle of the pipeline, making detection more convenient.
