Tilt sensor, safety detection for basket balance control

Standard requirements for high-altitude suspended baskets:

  1. Requirements for overload detection (protection) devices

1.1 Suspended baskets should be equipped with overload detection devices to prevent personnel hazards and mechanical damage caused by overload. This device can detect the load of personnel, equipment, and materials on the platform.

1.2 Overload detection devices should be installed on each hoist.

1.3 During use, overload should be detectable when the platform is rising, descending, or stationary.

1.4 The platform overload device should trigger when the hoist reaches 1.25 times the limit working load or before.

1.5 Once the overload device is activated, all movements except for descent will stop until the overload condition is removed.

1.6 When the overload device is triggered, the overload indicator will continuously emit visual or auditory signals to alert the operator on the platform.

1.7 The components preset in the overload device must have protective measures to prevent unauthorized adjustments.

1.8 The design of the overload device should allow for static and dynamic load tests as required by this standard.

1.9 The overload device should operate within the range of 1.6 times the limit working load of the hoist. The overload device should withstand static loads of 3 times the limit working load of the hoist without damage.

  2. Requirements for electronic anti-tilt (platform) devices

When triggered, the electronic anti-tilt device should:

  a) Stop the operation of the hoist motor at the upper (high-end) position when rising.

  b) Stop the operation of the hoist motor at the lower (low-end) position when descending.

  c) Trigger when the tilt angle in the length direction of the platform reaches 1.5 degrees (with an error not exceeding 0.3 degrees)

  d) Collision detection

High-altitude work poses significant dangers, and ensuring the stability of the suspended basket to guarantee the safety of construction personnel is one of the critical issues that must be considered. The LVT533T three-axis dual-channel relay output tilt leveling control switch can be selected, with an adjustable range of ±90 degrees, a resolution of 0.01 degrees, an accuracy of 0.1 degrees, temperature compensation, industrial grade, and relay output mode, which can be normally open or normally closed. It features a die-cast aluminum shell with an IP67 protection rating, and installation is straightforward, mounted on the suspended basket's lifting bucket to determine the tilt angle of the basket. This helps prevent operational errors caused by the operator's unfamiliarity with the high-altitude environment, such as the influence of high-altitude wind, the movement of personnel working at height, and various factors that make it difficult to accurately judge distances, leading to tilting or overturning accidents of the suspended basket.
