Tilt sensor application monitoring IoT billboard system

Msensor Sensor's tilt sensor is applied to monitor the IoT billboard system. Once the tilt angle of the billboard exceeds the set safety value, the monitoring data will be transmitted in real-time via wireless network, and automated warnings will be generated based on the monitoring results, sending reminder messages to notify relevant departments to address various safety hazards promptly.

Recently, in many cities, during severe weather such as strong winds, we have to be extra cautious when walking under these 'giants (large billboards)'. Especially in coastal cities, which are hit by typhoons every year. Msensor Sensor aims to improve urban safety management levels and facilitate regulatory units to quickly grasp emergencies by proposing the use of sensor technology for monitoring the tilt of large billboards. Tilt sensors have been installed on many large outdoor billboards in urban areas to monitor potential safety hazards at any time.

The process and principle of tilt sensor monitoring outdoor billboards: In this type of monitoring application, tilt sensors are usually installed securely on the back of the billboard during installation. Then, the horizontal or vertical axis of the tilt sensor is kept parallel to the ground or vertical direction, and the tilt sensor is swung back and forth and calibrated to observe the correspondence and angle variation between the sensor's X and Y axes and the actual horizontal and vertical axes. At the same time, by setting a certain safe tilt range, when the tilt of the billboard gradually changes to the set warning value, it can automatically send an alarm message to the terminal.

To improve urban safety management levels and facilitate regulatory units to quickly grasp emergencies, our company organized the engineering department and technical engineers to discuss in detail the design and implementation of the large outdoor advertising monitoring system, as well as the core issues of warning level formulation methods and hazard level prediction methods. The design part of the large outdoor advertising monitoring system includes system architecture, functions, database, and software and hardware integration design. Wuxi Msensor Sensor Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on the Internet of Things, sensor design, manufacturing, and technical solutions for various municipal projects, roads, and traffic units, and has designed a monitoring system based on tilt sensors.

The system consists of a front-end information collection device and a back-end information processing and display part. Among them, the MEMS tilt sensor in the front-end information collection device collects the tilt data of large billboards at regular intervals and transmits the monitoring data to the back-end server via GSM wireless network (3G/4G/5G) communication. The server then completes data parsing, data storage, monitoring, and warning, as well as Web interface and mobile display. The system features all-weather, real-time capabilities, greatly improving the efficiency of large billboard supervision while significantly saving labor costs, representing a beneficial attempt of applying IoT technology in the field of 'smart cities'.
