The IoT world is brewing an explosive growth in the industry.

At the 2018 World Internet of Things Expo, various high-level forums were held, including the Big Data Innovation and Development Summit Forum, the Intelligent Transportation and Vehicle Networking Industry Development Summit Forum, the Smart Environmental Protection Summit Forum, the Internet of Things and Intelligent Manufacturing Summit Forum, the Huihai Bay Intelligent Sensing Summit Forum, the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence Summit Forum, the Smart Grid Summit, and the New Smart City Construction Development Summit... These 10 high-level forums and multiple summits have left an indelible mark of 'interconnection' in the hearts of an increasing number of participants, reflecting the current focus of industrial development in China.

The 'brainstorming' shines along the banks of the Liangxi River, as Wuxi's Internet of Things leads at an unprecedented speed. As the Internet of Things brings more and more industrial achievements, looking back at this past grand event feels even more nostalgic.

All the talented individuals have gathered.

Pointing the way for the future development of the Internet of Things.

This grand event can be said to be a reunion of old friends—

Australian academician Blanka Vucetic, who participated in the Internet of Things and Intelligent Manufacturing Summit Forum, visited the Expo for the first time. She stated that 5G technology is a highly promising technology currently driving the development of the Internet of Things, providing assurance for the efficient and stable capture, transmission, and analysis of massive data in the future. Wuxi's 5G testing site is one of the largest testing bases in the world, and if standards can be established first, it would be a significant boost.

More experts and entrepreneurs offered advice on the development path of Wuxi's Internet of Things—

The unveiling of the Wuxi Micro System Technology Collaborative Innovation Platform, the signing of a batch of cooperative projects, and the accelerated construction of the Huihai Bay Town startup area... At the highly anticipated Huihai Bay Intelligent Sensing Summit Forum, Wuxi joined hands to build Huihai Bay Town, the Wuxi National Integrated Circuit Design Center, and the Internet of Things Innovation R&D Center, with plans to further develop Huihai Bay Town into a platform for resource integration in the Internet of Things field.

As a model for Wuxi's smart city construction, what is the future direction of Huihai Bay Town? 'The closed loop formed by the park, fund, and technology will support the construction of the town's industrial cluster.' Chen Zongnian, chairman of China Electronics Huikang Group, said, 'In the future, we hope to assist Wuxi in building a '1+8' model, which means promoting the comprehensive upgrade and development of Wuxi's Internet of Things industrial cluster with one core enterprise and eight listed companies.'

'Gathering wisdom' ecology.
Technological achievements reveal infinite possibilities for the future.

After years of brewing, Wuxi's Internet of Things has transitioned from concept to reality, and the industrial development ecology is gradually taking shape. The forums at this year's Expo showcased various cutting-edge technological achievements that were dazzling.

At the Internet of Things and Distributed Energy Summit Forum, the first generation of distributed intelligent wind turbine new products was presented. Unlike traditional centralized wind turbine products, the Envision distributed intelligent wind turbine features intelligent monitoring, intelligent sensing, and intelligent maintenance technologies, with characteristics such as safety, noise reduction, and grid friendliness. Its technical indicators have shifted from profit indicators to safety indicators, significantly reducing electricity costs by saving on long-distance transmission losses and excessive construction costs.

Wuxi's industrial Internet local industrial advantages and manufacturing foundation provide software-defined hardware (SDH), device access, data storage, API suites, and open-source communities, offering open platform capabilities to third parties.

'The era of data dominance is finally approaching. The accumulation, refinement, and analysis of big data are essential to intelligent manufacturing.' Mei Xuesong's words resonated with many enterprises present. Liu Bin, general manager of Zhonghui Automobile, stated that many people are still at the stage of using industrial robots to replace manual labor. Only by fundamentally breaking through the cognitive bottleneck can the deep advancement of the intelligent manufacturing industry be realized. 'I have decided to launch a big data processing center project soon; the sooner we advance, the sooner we will benefit.'

At the Industrial Internet Development Summit Forum, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Ni Guangnan and Tan Jianrong delivered speeches. He believes that the conclusions drawn by several academicians regarding the integration and application of the Internet of Things in the industrial field align very well with Haier Group's large-scale customization model and strategic layout for building an Internet of Things ecological brand implemented in Wuxi. In May of this year, Haier established the Internet of Things ecological network base project in Wuxi, introducing the Haier COSMOPlat platform to connect various isolated links of clothing purchase, washing, care, management, and wearing, forming a new model of 'clothing Internet' smart laundry.
