Characteristics and Application Fields of Hydraulic Static Leveling Instruments

Introduction to Hydraulic Static Leveling Instrument

Static Leveling SystemIt consists of components such as a liquid storage tank, high-precision core, custom circuit module, and protective cover.A precision instrument for measuring relative elevation changes between two or more points. It features a large measurement range, high accuracy, simple installation, compact size, high repeatability, user-friendly design, and no need for point transfer. The product can meet high seismic resistance, waterproofing, and military-grade applications in various environments. The settlement monitoring early warning system has high-precision data intelligent acquisition, long-term solid-state storage, and long-distance transmission capabilities, allowing for close-range display and manual input. It is a highly cost-effective automatic monitoring terminal product suitable for harsh outdoor environments. It supports three communication methods: self-reporting, self-reporting with confirmation, and response, which can be mixed in networking. It supports three power management modes: power-off, sleep, and permanent online, enabling bidirectional communication in a low-power working mode with an integrated structure that requires no integration and is easy to install.

Application Principle

During use, multiple static leveling instruments' pressure chambers are connected in series to the liquid level container through liquid pipes. The high-precision silicon core sensor measures the pressure, which is transmitted to the signal acquisition system via RS485 signals. The signal changes during the pressure monitoring process are transmitted to the signal acquisition system, and through analysis and calculation, they change synchronously with the pressure measurement, thus measuring the pressure change at each measurement point to analyze the relative settlement height of the ground.

Appearance Features

This product features a magnesium-aluminum alloy shell design with a transparent observation hole, allowing for real-time viewing of the liquid's position and the presence of liquid bubbles. It is also designed with a spring-loaded self-locking drainage device, enabling quick and easy venting when bubbles are present. The wiring port uses aviation connectors, providing excellent waterproof characteristics with an overall protection level of IP67. The connecting pipe interface uses standard starting connectors, with a pressure resistance level of up to 2MPa. The entire sensor is designed to be waterproof and shockproof, suitable for use under special conditions. It has a lifespan of over 5 years and can be reused with high consistency, featuring a built-in embedded aviation high-precision silicon pressure sensing chip.

The hydraulic static leveling instrument is mainly used for monitoring vertical displacement and tilt in large structures, high-rise buildings, foundation pits, tunnels, bridges, subways, geological settlement, etc.The static leveling system is generally installed on the measuring pier at the same elevation as the object being measured or on the wall of the object being measured. It usually uses an integrated modular automatic measurement unit to collect data, connecting to a computer via wired or wireless communication for automated observation.

Connection Diagram

This system consists of measurement points, reference points, liquid storage tanks, connecting pipes, and collection instruments, distinguishing it from other traditional settlement monitoring systems.

Leveling Instrument Features

   1. Uses a differential pressure sensor to measure the pressure difference between the liquid surface and the air. Calibration fitting is performed beforehand, allowing for the most direct and intuitive monitoring of the settlement of the monitored object.

   2. Small size, high accuracy, and large measurement range.

   3. Can be installed along the ground trend without leveling or point transfer. Fully sealed structure, can be buried underground.

   4. Uses low-power and ultra-low-power sensors to reduce bus pressure.

   5. Shields the impact of air pressure changes on measurement accuracy through air ducts.

Application Impact

Potential impacts of this product during application (simple introduction of railway dynamic examples):

Rail transit trains generally produce instantaneous airflows and vibrations due to their own weight during operation, leading to significant measurement errors in the product after a period of time. The following examples illustrate this:

a. Changes in internal air pressure of the instrument

For example, subway operation causes air movement inside the tunnel, leading to a trend of decreasing air pressure in the static leveling container, ultimately causing the liquid level to rise. After a long period, a small amount of air may appear in the instrument's cavity, affecting measurement accuracy (this product is equipped with a vent valve to perfectly resolve this issue).

b. Impact of train vibrations

When the train carriage is near the monitoring point, it causes the monitoring point to sink, leading to a rise in the liquid level inside the static leveling container; after the train moves away from the monitoring point, the monitoring point rises, causing the liquid level inside the static leveling container to drop. The train passing through suddenly causes the liquid level in the container to vibrate up and down, leading to fluctuations in the pressure changes within the monitoring product (this product has a fast recovery speed).

c. The impact of the reference point

When the train passes the reference point, the above-mentioned effects a and b on the reference point will have the opposite effect on the monitoring point.

It is recommended to use colored antifreeze as the transmission medium.
